The University of Bergamo has 7 Departments, which promote, coordinate and organize research and teaching activities of the educational programs. The strengths of UNIBG are, therefore, the wide range of courses offered (also through E-learning projects), the excellent use of the numerous laboratories available to students, the ambitious research centres, and, last but not least, the fact that the University operates in one of the most dynamic of areas, from both a cultural and an economic viewpoint in Italy. UNIBG has about 16,000 students, and more than 300 PhD students. The number of students is increasing each year, with a 7% growth rate per year between 2001 and 2011. A staff of 656 members (331 professors and researchers, 95 assisting academic staff, 230 administrative and technical staff) provides a dynamic scientific and teaching environment.

The University of Bergamo is a partner of the projects, leading WP5 for the development of criteria for selection of students and tutors. It is in charge of the development the criteria of selection of students based on the disciplines targeted in the pilot testing; development the criteria for selection of tutors in company; selection of 12 students of the last year of the Bachelor in Tourism (EQF 6) in each country and 1 company tutor by each company involved; building up the triangulation teams in each country: HEIs tutors, company tutors and students.
